INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new appliance, please read this user guide carefully
before using it for the first time. Take particular note of the safety precautions. We
also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can
remind yourself of the functions of your appliance.
SAFETY MEASURES
General
• Incorrect use of this appliance may cause personal injury and damage to the
appliance.
• Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any
injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee
Terms).
• For connection to 230 V, 50 Hz only. The appliance must be earthed.
• For domestic use only. Not for outdoor or commercial use.
• The appliance, cord or plug must not be placed in water or any other liquid.
• Never touch the appliance, cord or plug with wet or damp hands.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
• Keep children under supervision when in use.
• Do not use if the exhaust filter (HEPA filter) motor filter and dust bag are not
fitted, as this could damage the appliance.
• Only use accessories manufactured or recommended by the manufacturer.
Use
• Do not use it on wet surfaces.
• Take particular care when vacuuming stairs, due to the risk of falling.
• Do not use to vacuum up matches, hot ashes, cigarette butts, hard or sharp
objects, wet or damp substances, combustible materials (petrol, solvents, etc.)
or vapour from these.
• Do not use to vacuum fine sand or dust – e.g. plaster, brick dust and the like.
• Ensure that you keep clothing, hair and body parts away from the nozzle and
moving parts of the appliance.
• Do not cover the appliance’s suction or exhaust port.
Cord and plug
• Keep the cord and appliance away from heat sources, hot objects and naked
flames.
• Switch the appliance off and unplug it when it is not in use, and before you
change the dust bag and clean or replace the filters.
o Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold
the plug.
o Hold the plug firmly while reeling the cord in to avoid it hitting the appliance
or other nearby objects.
• Check regularly that neither cord nor plug is damaged and do not use if they are,
or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
• If the appliance, cord or plug have been damaged, have them inspected and
if necessary repaired by an authorised repair engineer. Never try to repair the
appliance yourself. Please contact the store where you bought the appliance for
repairs under guarantee. Unauthorised repairs or modifications to the appliance
will invalidate the guarantee.
Batteries
• Check plus and minus poles are correctly aligned since incorrectly inserted
batteries may damage the appliance.
• Remove the batteries from the handle, if the appliance is not to be used for a
prolonged period.
• Always replace both batteries at the same time.
• Never mix different types of battery (e.g. manganese dioxide batteries and
alkaline batteries), old and new batteries or different makes of batteries.

PREPARING THE APPLIANCE
IMPORTANT! Before use, open the lid and
check that motor filter (21+22) and exhaust
filter (19+20) as well as the dust bag (13)
are fitted (see section on Replacing Filters,
Dust Bag and Dust Holder, below).
• The remote control in the handle (16) uses 2 AAA batteries.
o Remove the cover (26) from the battery compartment (25) and insert the
batteries.
o Check plus and minus poles are aligned correctly to avoid damage to the
appliance.
o Click the battery cover back into place.
o NOTE: Without batteries, the appliance will function as an ordinary vacuum
cleaner which can be switched on and off at the on/off button (17).
• Fit the hose (10) by inserting it into the hose connector (11) so that the dowels
(9) click into place and the hose is securely attached.
• Fit telescopic tube (7) at opposite end of hose. Tube length can be adjusted by
pressing on the lock button (8).
• Fit nozzle required (5, 6 or 15) to telescopic tube.
USE
• Pull the cord (2) out of the appliance. The cord may not be pulled out further
than the red mark. Plug in and switch on the power.
• Press the on/off button to start and stop the appliance.
• Use the "+" and "-" buttons (23) on the handle to regulate suction power during
use. The current setting can be seen on the indicator panel (3):
• You can start and stop cleaning during use with the start/stop button (24). The
"MIN" symbol on the indicator panel will blink when the appliance is stopped.
• The floor nozzle (15) bristles have two settings which can be selected using the
brush function button on top of the nozzle
o When cleaning hard surfaces (stone- or wooden flooring, etc.), the nozzle
brushes should be extended.
o When cleaning carpets and rugs, the brushes should be retracted into the
nozzle.
• IMPORTANT! If the suction strength of the appliance is reduced, the nozzle or
hose may be blocked, filters may be blocked or dirty and the dust bag may be
full. Never use the appliance if this is the case, as this will damage the motor
irreparably. Immediately remove the cause of the blockage, clean the filters or
replace dust bag.
Tips for vacuum cleaning
• There is a nozzle holder (14) on the front of the telescopic tube for use when
vacuuming. to ensure they are always handy.
• Each nozzle has a special purpose. Try each of them out in different situations to
achieve your personal preferences.
• The small crevice nozzle can be used with and without brushes, as they can be
quickly extended or withdrawn.
• You can park the floor nozzle in one of the parking brackets (on the back and
underside of the appliance) when taking a break from vacuuming.
