Fresh Water System
Typical Fresh Water Pump and Strainer
Make sure the Fresh Water switch in the helm
switch panel is on before using the washdown
hose and that the washdown faucet valve or hose
spray nozzles are off when the fresh water system
is activated.
7.3 Water Heater
The water heater is located in the port rear of the
systems compartment. The 120 volt AC element
that heats the water is thermostatically controlled
at the heater and activated by a circuit breaker lo-
cated in the AC panel. A high pressure relief valve
protects the system from excessive pressure. To
avoid damage to the water heater, always make
sure all air is purged from the water heater and
lines before activating the water heater breaker.
Refer to the water heater owner’s manual for ad-
ditional information.
CAUTION
DO NOT SUPPLY CURRENT TO AN EMPTY WATER HEATER.
DAMAGE TO THE HEATER WILL RESULT. THE SYSTEM MUST
BE FILLED AND PRIMED BEFORE USING THE WATER HEATER.
7.4 Shore Water Connection
The shore water connection allows the direct con-
nection of the boat water system to a shore side
water supply. This provides the system with a
constant supply of fresh water and minimizes the
pressure pump operation. A female inlet fitting
is mounted on the aft side of the fishbox, just
forward of the engines near the shore power in-
let. A pressure reducer is installed in the system
along with two check valves. One check valve
keeps water from running out of the shore water
inlet fitting when the pressure pump operates.
The second provides protection for the pressure
pump when high pressure city water is connected.
To use shore water, connect a hose from the shore
side water faucet to the shore water inlet fitting
on the boat. Next, turn on the shore water. The
pressure pump will not run and the water in the
boat’s water tank will not be used.

Notice:
The water tank will not be filled by connect
-
ing to shore water.
CAUTION
DO NOT MODIFY OR CHANGE THE SHORE WATER INLET
CONNECTOR WITH ANOTHER TYPE WITHOUT CONSULTING
EVERGLADES CUSTOMER SERVICE OR YOUR DEALER.
THE USE OF THE WRONG TYPE OF INLET CONNECTOR CAN
DAMAGE THE FRESH WATER SYSTEM.
