12.3 V-Berth and Dinette
The V-berth and dinette table are located in the
bow area forward of the galley. There is a large
storage compartment below the starboard side
of the berth.
Daylight and fresh air is provided to this area by an
overhead opening hatch and a port window. The
hatch and window are equipped with a removable
screen. Additional lighting is provided by recessed
12-volt lights in the headliner that are controlled
by a switch in the cabin switch panel. Refer to the
Ventilation System chapter for more information
on operating the hatch and window.
The table is mounted on an adjustable pedestal that
allows the V-berth to be converted to a double berth
or a dinette. An Adjustable clamp on the pedestal
secures the table at the desired height.
To convert the dinette to a berth, loosen the clamp
on the pedestal base and push down to lower table.
When the table is all the way down and resting on
the supports in the molded recess in the V-berth,
tighten the clamp to secure it in that position. Place
the separate filler cushion on the table to complete
the conversion. To put the table up, remove the filler
cushion, loosen the clamp and lift the table up to the
dinette position and tighten the clamp the pedestal.
The table should be in the full down position whenever
the boat is run offshore or in heavy sea conditions to
prevent damage to the pedestal assembly.
The cabin air conditioning unit and access to the
optional bow thruster is located in the compartment
below the table pedestal.
TV (Optional)
The TV is mounted to the rear V-berth bulkhead.
The DVD/CD player is located in the cabin AC
panel. The TV and DVD/CD player are powered
by the DC electrical system. Fuses in the fuse
panels near the helm protect the circuits. Refer
to the TV and DVD/CD player owner’s manuals for
detailed information on the operation of the TV
and DVD player installed in your boat.
