5.2.1 Hydraulic Pumps

The hydraulic system is equipped of ball valves for an easier maintenance of hydraulic
components. For example, these ball valves are particularly useful when a hydraulic pump
needs to be changed. The ball valves must remain open at all time during operation. For safety
matters, each ball valve handle has been removed and stored in the electrical panel to avoid
unexpected closing of a valve, which would seriously damage the pumps.

INSTRUCTIONS!

Never start the system while a ball valve is closed.

This would seriously damage the pumps.

Hydraulic Flow Interruption

It may be necessary to stop the hydraulic flow when having to change a hydraulic pump, hose
sections or any other component requiring hydraulic flow interruption.

1.

Install the ball valve handle (stored in the electrical panel).

2.

Close the ball valve. The handle must be perpendicular to the valve.

3.

Do the necessary repairs.

4.

Open the ball valve. The handle must be parallel to the valve.

5.

Remove the ball valve handle and put it back in the electrical panel.

5.3 Maintenance upon Delivery of a New Machine

Check the oil level with the dipstick

-

Check the coolant level while the engine is cold.

-

Check the hydraulic oil level on the tank thermometer. Refer to

Section 5.2

.

-

Grease all pins and pivots (any kind of lithium-based grease is good) until the grease comes
out of the pivot.

-

Grease Screen Box bearings. Refer to

Section 5.1

for grease specifications.

-

Wipe off excess grease on cylinder rods.

-

Tighten any loose bolts.

-

Check conveyors belt tension.

-

Check engine belt tension.

-

Check Screen Box drive belt tension.

-

Check track tension. Refer to manufacturer’s file at the end of this manual.

Check the general condition of the machine.
