8.2 AIR DELIVERY OPTIONS
SINGLE OR DUAL DELIVERY
The air delivery is set up for either single or dual delivery.
For a single delivery system, only one product (seed or fertilizer) is delivered from the Air Cart
to the seeding implement. Air is normally supplied from a single fan and the metering units all
connect to a single delivery system.
For a dual delivery system, two products (seed and fertilizer) are delivered from the Air Cart to
the seeding implement. Air is supplied from a single or dual fan (depending on seeding
implement width) and the metering units feed to two different delivery systems.
NOTE: For a dual delivery system with two fans, the one fan is allocated to seed, and the other
fan is allocated to fertilizer.
SINGLE CHUTE OR DUAL MIXER METERING UNITS
For a single delivery system, single chute metering units are used. On the single chute metering
units each pintle cog feeds product into a single airline and all the outlets of the metering units
are connected together.
For a dual delivery system, single chute metering units or dual outlet mixer metering units are
used. When single chute metering units are used, some metering units are connected to the
fertilizer delivery lines and the other are connected to the seed delivery lines.
