7.3 OPERATION PROCEDURES
POSITIONING THE AUGER AND FILLING THE BINS
1. Check that the selector valve is set to auger.
2. Open the bin lids.
3. Check that the auger forward/reverse valve is set to the forward position (normal working
position)
4. Switch the Lodar system ON.
5. Unlatch the transport latch.
6. Tilt the auger up slightly so that it is free to move out of the transport rest.
7. Move the auger into the desired filling position by manipulating the inner and outer swing
arms, being careful not to hit the auger against the Air Cart bins.
8. When in position, tilt the auger so that the inlet chute rests on the ground.
9. Start the auger and fill the bin to the desired capacity.
10. Stop the auger when finished and proceed to fill the next bin.
MOVING THE AUGER BACK INTO TRANSPORT POSITION
1. Stop the auger when all bins are filled to the desired capacity.
2. Move the auger back to the transport position by manipulating the inner and outer swing
arms, being careful not to hit the auger against the Air Cart bins.
3. Tilt the auger to ensure the top end rests on the transport rest.
4. Engage the transport latch, check that the spring bolt is secured.
5. Switch the Lodar system OFF.
6. Close the lids on top of the bins.
7. Set the selector valve to drive.
EMERGENCY OVERRIDE ON SOLENOID VALVES
The solenoid valves in the hydraulic manifold block which controls the auger is equipped with
manual overrides on the valves. This allows for moving the auger into position and starting the
auger when an electrical fault prevents remote-control operation.
IMPORTANT:
The manual override function should only be used in an emergency when the
remote-control system is unavailable.
