Nozzle Verification Technology

marked fall in pr int q u al it y a n d barcode q u al it y d u e t o a n i rrecoverably clo gg ed n ozzle.
Setting the Nozzle Verification Technology
If yo u se t “E n able” for t he Nozzle Ver i f i ca ti o n Tech n olo g y, in t he cases descr i bed below or every ti me
t he nu mber of pr int ed cop i es in "Se tting Nozzle check int erval" has bee n reached, a n a ut o n ozzle
check w i ll be performed.
• S t ar ting a pr inting job or per pr int ed shee t s spec i f i ed in t he int erval of Nozzle check int erval
• Power i s tu r n ed ON
• The ma int e n a n ce box cover i s closed
• The roll paper cover or paper se t cover i s closed af t er a paper jam.
If t he nu mber of n ozzle dropo ut s t ha t i s de t ec t ed exceeds t he “Threshold of clo gg ed n ozzles” t ha t
yo u have se t , a ut o head clea ning w i ll be exec ut ed t o el i m in a t e do t dropo ut .
Perform a n ozzle check eve n af t er a ut o clea ning , a n d i f t he nu mber of dropo ut s does n o t fall below
t he se t “Threshold of clo gg ed n ozzles“, perform a ut o clea ning a g a in .
CAUTION
This Nozzle Verification Technology cannot detect 100% of dot missing cases. It cannot detect
100% of missing dots and ink droplet curvature.

Print head maintenance is executed for all heads simultaneously. It is not executed only for
the heads and ink in which nozzle clogging was detected.

The Nozzle Verification Technology uses a small amount of ink.

After detecting a missing dot, cleaning is performed automatically and ink is also used in the
cleaning.
