Removing the Upper Light Guide from the Light Guide Unit
Prerequisite condition: The step explained in Subsections 3.2.1, 3.2.4, 3.25, 3.2.10,
3.2.11, 3.2.12, 3.2.13, 3.2.15, and 3.2.17 must have been completed.

1. Remove the glass hold springs (17 pieces).
2. Remove eight upper light guide mounting screws.

3. Slightly lift the upper light guide straight to disengage it from the lower light guide. If
the upper light guide will not disengage from the lower light guide, repeat this step
several times in the order of
(4) indicated in the photo. Note that attempting to
disengage them with excessive force or distorting them would damage the internal
lenses or mirrors,
4. While keeping the upper light guide approximately 1 cm afloat, make sure that the
mirrors and lenses are set on the lower light guide.
If one of them is mounted on the
upper light guide, set it on the lower light guide while holding it in place with a pair of
tweezers.
5. Pull the upper light guide straight up.
Caution:
Before installation, clean and make sure that the lenses and mirrors are free of dirt.
Clean them if necessary.
