Getting Started

Connecting the Scanner Using the SCSI
Interface

Before you connect the scanner, make sure you have installed the software, as
described on page 13. Then turn off your computer.

In order to use the SCSI connection, you need to make sure your computer has a
SCSI board and any necessary SCSI software installed. Then follow these steps to
connect the scanner:

1. If you have another SCSI device that

uses SCSI ID 2, turn the SCSI ID
switch on the back of the scanner to a
new number. Do not use 0, 1, or 7.

2. Unless your scanner is connected in

the middle of a SCSI chain, leave the
terminator switch on the back of the
scanner turned

On

3. Squeeze the lock releases on your

SCSI cable, and plug it into either
SCSI connector on the back of the
scanner. Connect the other end of
the cable to the SCSI port on your
computer.
