RMON Statistics Screen Field Descriptions

Use this field...

To...

RMON Statistics: Port

See the port associated with the RMON statistics currently
displayed.

Drop Events

See the total number of events in which frames were
dropped due to lack of resources.

Total Octets

See the total number of octets (bytes) of data, including
those in bad frames, received on this interface.

Total Packets

See the total number of frames (including bad frames,
broadcast frames, and multicast frames) received on this
interface.

Broadcast Frames

See the total number of good frames that were directed to
the broadcast address. The value of this field does not
include multicast frames.

Multicast Frames

See the total number of good frames received that were
directed to a multicast address. The value of this field does
not include frames directed to the broadcast address.

CRC/Alignment Errors

See the number of frames with bad Cyclic Redundancy
Checks (CRC) received from the network. The CRC is a
4-byte field in the data frame that ensures that the data
received is the same as the data that was originally sent.

Undersize Frames

See the number of frames received containing less than the
minimum Ethernet frame size of 64 bytes, not including the
preamble, but have a valid CRC.

Oversize Frames

See the number of frames received that exceeded 1518 data
bytes, not including preamble, but have a valid CRC.
