Communities
When to Use
To configure the community strings authorized for management access. Up to 5 community names
may be entered.
How to Access
Use the arrow keys to highlight the SNMP Communities menu item on the SNMP Configuration
Menu screen and press ENTER. The SNMP Communities screen, Figure 6-8 , displays.

Menu Item Screen Function
Send Authentication Fail Traps Enables or disables the issuing of a trap message to
specified IP trap managers whenever authentication of an
SNMP request fails. (The default setting is ENABLED.)
SNMP Communities Provides access to the SNMP Communities screen to assign
SNMP access based on specified strings. For details, refer
to
Section 6.4.1 .
IP Trap Managers Provides access to the IP Trap Managers screen to specify
the management stations that will receive authentication
failure messages or other trap messages from the module.
