Caution!
• Switch off power supply before installing or connecting the device. Failure to observe this may
result in destruction of parts of the electronics.
• When installing Ex-approved devices in a hazardous area please take special note of the
instructions and connection schematics in the respective Ex documentation added to these
Operating Instructions. The local E+H representative is available for assistance if required.
• The 4-pin post connector is only designed for connecting the associated display. Connecting other
devices can destroy parts of the electronics.
Devices can be connected to the FOUNDATION Fieldbus™ in two ways:
• Connection via conventional cable gland

4.1 Connecting the cable to the field indicator
4.1.1 Mounting the cable gland or fieldbus connector in the plastic
housing
Firstly, open one of the knock-outs provided on the bottom of the housing. Use a suitable tool, e.g.
a screwdriver.

Caution!
Open the knock-out at room temperature. At very low temperature the housing might be damaged.

Proceed as follows for mounting (

1. Open the housing front of the field housing.
