• The bus scanning must be disabled for the bus to which you wish to connect:

Question Answer
Is Master Class attribute configurable
via OPC and DTM?
• Fieldgate FXA720 can handle both Master classes without any configuration.
If cyclic data exchange is initiated by the application it implicitly becomes a
Master Class I.
• In case of a configuration tool, all acyclic data inititated by the configurator is
forwarded to devices through the Fieldgate as Master Class II services. For
example, PROFIBUS OPC Server normally behaves as Master Class I and
CommDTMs as Master Class II.
What parameters are available for
configuration via web-server?
• Chapter 6 describes the Fieldgate parameters that can be configured.
• The devices connected to the Fieldgate cannot be configured: if this is
required, a separate configuration tool is required.
How do I use Fieldgate with link device
(LM 157) from Siemens?
• If Fieldgate is operating as a plant access point for remote diagnosis or
inventory monitoring, the link can be used in the normal way.
• If you wish to configure the devices with an FDT based tool, e.g. FieldCare,
then a CommDTM is required for the link.
• PA links are not supported if Fieldgate is operating as a Web server.
If customers have a PROFIBUS system
(PLC, DCS), what is important to know
before using a Fieldgate?
• When used for remote diagnosis or inventory control, the Fieldgate acts as a
secondary master and must be configured as described in Section 7.2 of this
manual.
• If you wish to configure PROFIBUS devices with an FDT based tool, e.g.
FieldCare, then Device DTMs are required for the devices. A coupler does
not require a CommDTM but a Siemens link does.
