TAU-72.IP/TAU-36.IP Firmware Update Instructions, Upgrading to the Latest Version 

 

 

New firmware versions utilize new update method and new firmware file format. Exercise 
caution and follow instructions while performing firmware update.

 

Steps necessary to update the firmware to the latest version (2.13.1). 

Verify that the name of the firmware 

version 2.13.1 

file is 

firmware.img32

. 

If the current switch firmware version is 1.9.0 or earlier (including legacy versions with 4-

digit version number): 

1.

 

Download the firmware 

version 1.11.4

 file:

 

http://eltex.nsk.ru/upload/files/tau36_72/tau36_72/1_11_4/firmware.tar.gz

 

2.

 

Download the firmware 

version 2.13.1

 file:  

http://eltex.nsk.ru/upload/files/tau36_72/2.13.1/firmware.img72

 

3.

 

 In the  device  web configurator, select 

'Service'

  menu, and then 

'Firmware upgrade'

  tab. In the  dialog 

window, browse to the firmware 

version 1.11.4

 file. To do this, click the

 'Browse'

 button in '

Universal 

firmware upgrade'

 section and then click 

'Upgrade firmware'

 button. Verify that the name of the file is 

firmware.tar.gz

. 

4.

 

Wait until firmware upgrade process is completed; after that TAU should automatically restart. 

5.

 

When  the  device  is  rebooted,  open  web  configurator  and  click 

'Save'

  button  shown  next  to  any 

configuration menu item, e.g. on 

'Network'

 tab. 

6.

 

When  configuration  is  saved,  update  firmware  in  a  similar  manner  using  the  firmware 

version  2.13.1

 

file. Verify that the name of the firmware version 2.13.1 file is 

firmware.img72

. 

If the current switch firmware version is 2.1.0 through 2.1.4:

Download the firmware 

version 2.1.4

 file:

Download the firmware 

version 2.13.1

 button. Verify that the name of the file is

When the  device is rebooted, update firmware  in a similar manner using the firmware 

version 2.13.1

version 2.5.0
