Procedure for checking the commutator motors
1) Check the connector blocks (wiring)
and check for detached or bent
terminals.
2) Check for traces, residue or deposits
of water or detergent on the motor and
identify the source.
3) Check for windings or other parts that
may be grounded or poorly insulated.
Use a tester with a minimum scale of
40 M
Ω
: between each terminal and the
casing, this should read
∞
(fig. 10).
4) Check each winding against the values
shown in the table below
(fig. 11).
N.B.:
When checking the rotor winding, the measurement must be effected over the entire surface, rotating
the spindle very slowly and checking for short-circuits between visible plates. Also check the brushes for
wear.
