Ensure that the scanning environment is optimal.

Refer to section 5.3, “Scanning Tips and Environment.”

Position the subject
in a chair in the
scanning room within
the scanning volume.

Refer to section 5.3.

Launching the Software and Turning

on the Scanner

Select the

GeoScan icon

to launch the

GeoScan software.

If the GeoScan icon is on the desktop, you will double-
click it. If the GeoScan icon is in the Dock, you will single-
click it.

When the GeoScan handheld scanner is first plugged in or the computer turned
on, GeoScan will emit

two beep tones

after the scanner has completed its

diagnostic evaluation

If a

Temperature Out of Range

message appears onscreen, wait

until the scanner has warmed up, which takes about

two

minutes

. The scanner is not usable until it has warmed up.
