Never TWIST, FLIP, or JERK the scanner. To successfully scan all sensors,
you should slowly and smoothly move the scanner in straight, even
lines while pointing the apertures directly at the tops of the sensors.
Never twist, flip, or jerk the scanner.
Twisting, flipping, or jerking the scanner
may cause GeoScan to
lose its orientation in space by breaking
the signal between the scanner and
software.
If the scanner does lose its orientation in
space, return it to the last position it held
its orientation (or to the top, center of the
subject’s head) and hold the scanner still
for a few seconds until it recaptures its
signal with the software. Then, rescan the last path before orientation
was lost to ensure that that area is completely scanned.

monitor so that you can see the
monitor for feedback
and move easily around the
subject as you scan, probe,
align, and label the GSN’s
sensors.
Also ensure that you have enough
room to manage the scanner’s cable so
that neither you nor your subject is
entangled.

scanner and the
software had a
good signal that
they were both
locked onto.
