Put the cup under the spout of the filter holder (for the preparation of 2 cups, put 1 cup under each spout).
Move the group lever into the upper position. During coffee preparation, the overpressure is conducted into the drip
tray. When the cup is filled, move the group lever into the lower position.
The remaining pressure/water will be discharged into the drip tray by the lower part of the infusion cylinder.
If the group lever is not moved into the lower position properly, hot water and grounds disposal can squirt out of the
group while taking out the filter holder. This can cause injuries.

Dispensing hot water
To dispense bigger hot water quantities, follow the indications below:
Place an adequate water container (with a heat-insulating handle) under the hot water dispenser and open the hot
water handle (BARISTA) or the hot water lever valve (BARISTA PROFI). Place the nozzle of the dispenser into the
water container in order to avoid injuries or hot water spillings. If you move the power switch to “0”, it is possible to
dispense approx. 1.0-1.2 l of tea water. Therefore, open the hot water valve. After dispensing water, switch on the
machine. The boiler will be refilled automatically with fresh water.
Advice:
If you want to dispense only small hot water quantities (e. g. 1 tea cup), the machine does not have to be
switched off.
10 Dispensing steam
With the BARISTA / BARISTA PROFI, you can generate a large amount of steam in order to heat or froth beverages,
e.g. milk or punch. It is a professional and compact espresso coffee machine with an enormous steam volume,
superior to usual household units. Therefore, within a few seconds you can prepare milk froth. Please pay attention
to the instructions noted below. Do not bring the milk to a boil, otherwise frothing milk will not be possible.
Important:
In order to get the best result when frothing the milk, open the steam handle (BARISTA) or the steam
lever valve (BARISTA PROFI) for approx. 5 seconds to release the condensation water in the pipe. Immerse the steam
nozzle (at the end of the steam dispenser) in the liquid. Now re-open the steam handle (BARISTA) or the steam lever
valve (BARISTA PROFI). Heat or froth the liquid. Always place the nozzle underneath the surface of the liquid to
avoid spillings
(danger of injury)
. After frothing or heating, release the steam into the drip tray to keep the slots of
the steam nozzle clean.
Advice:
Clean the steam nozzle and the steam dispenser after every application with a non abrasive damp cloth;
thus, you can remove possible liquid residues.
Attention:
While cleaning, avoid skin contact with the steam dispenser
(danger of injury)
.
11 Cleaning
A regular and accurate care is very important for the performance, the long lifetime and the safety of your machine.
Important:
Always disconnect the power cord before cleaning the machine (power switch in position “0”). Make
sure you have plugged the power cord from the outlet and let the machine cool down to ambient temperature (for at
least 30 minutes).
Filter holder, filters, water tank, drip tray, drip tray grid, measuring-spoon and tamper require daily cleaning. Use
warm water and/or food safe detergent for cleaning.
Clean the net shower and the group gasket in the lower part of the group with a hard brush and remove visible dirt
without disassembling the parts.
Cleaning asnecessary:
Clean the body, when the machine is switched off and cold. Please use a soft and damp cloth.
Never use abrasive detergents!
Emptying the water drip tray:
Please empty the water drip tray regularly and do not wait until it is full.
Cleaning and degreasing the group:
A group cleaner (in powder or tablet form) is available at your specialised
dealer. With this detergent, you can clean and degrease the group very easily. The cleaning is carried out using the
blind filter included in delivery. The group cleaning with our tablets can be carried out every week.
