8.2.2.
Active preinfusion PrA
We recommend using active preinfusion when operating with a water tank. At the beginning of the coffee
extraction, the pump will build up pressure for a predefined or adjusted time (PrA). However, before the
pump pressure reaches 9 bar, the pump interrupts the activity for another predefined or adjusted time (PrP)
and gives the water the opportunity to completely infuse the ground coffee and then continue the extraction
at 9 bar.
An example: PrA = 4 seconds, PrP = 6 seconds.
The brewing process will start with 4 seconds of pump activity. For the following 6 seconds, the solenoid
valve is kept open, however the pump activity is interrupted. After the 6 seconds, the pump activity is
resumed and the extraction continues at 9 bar.
To set up the active preinfusion please proceed as follows:
1.
Turn on your machine so that the PID can be seen. The passive
preinfusion must be activated.
