Flush Advisor
The Flush Advisor is an extension which adds a reminder for a flush to the HX mode if the machine has
become overheated due to a long period of inactivity. After some time has passed, and due to the higher
boiler temperature, the brewing temperature also takes on a higher temperature than desired. This effect is
inherent in the design of dual circuit espresso systems. To restore the optimum brewing temperature, a short
flush (empty extraction to remove water from the brew head without extracting coffee) must be carried out.
The duration of this flush varies depending on the set boiler temperature and the desired brewing
temperature. The Flush Advisor (FLU) calculates the duration for an empty extraction. This function is
particularly suitable for users who have not yet gained previous experience with dual circuit espresso
machines.

FLU = on, btc = off

Brew Temperature Control-Modus (BTC)
In this mode, the brewing temperature can be directly set by using our intelligent control technology. This is
measured via a sensor at the top of the brew group. You will find the setting option in the Advanced User
Settings (see 6.10).
Activation:
FLU = off, btc = on
Setting the temperature:
t1 (brewing temperature)
Temperature range:
88°C - 95°C
Display:
t1 (brewing temperature)
More information on the settings can be found under points 7.5 and 8.1.
7.3.
Brewing temperature t1
Under the menu item t1 you can set the desired brewing temperature. This is a target temperature. You will
need this in both the Flush Advisor mode as well as the BTC mode. The preset default value for the brewing
temperature is 92°C. For more information, see points 6.5 and 7.1.
7.4.
Boiler temperature t2
The desired boiler temperature can be set via the menu item t2. This is not only required for drawing hot
water and steam, but also has a direct influence on the brewing temperature in dual-circuit machines such as
the MECHANIKA MAX.
We recommend a temperature setting, displayed on the PID of t2=124°C at approx. 1.25 bar. The resulting
brewing temperature is suitable for a medium or ‘omni
-
’ roast.
