USEFUL TIPS
If the Internet radio constantly refreshes the radio station buffer:
Internet radio transmits data from the radio station via a broadband connection. If this connection has a high
error rate or is intermittent, this will cause the Internet radio to pause until the connection is re-established and
downloads enough data to resume playback. If your Internet radio keeps stopping, check your DSL modem
for high error rates or broadband disconnections. If you keep having these issues, contact your broadband
supplier.
What is a buffer?
When playing a stream, the internet radio/media player will download a small part of the stream before starting
to play. It is used to fill any gaps in the data flow that may occur if the Internet or wireless network is busy.
Internet radio streams music data from your computer while you listen. If the stream is blocked or the internet
connection is overloaded during transmission, playback may be interrupted or distorted. If this happens, check
your internet connection speed – it must be faster than the stream’s bitrate.
The radio works, but some stations cannot be played.
The problem may be caused by one or more of the following:
•
The radio station is no longer broadcasting.
•
The station has reached the maximum number of simultaneous listeners allowed.
•
The radio station has changed its broadcast parameters and the link is no longer valid.
•
The radio station does not broadcast at this particular hour (not all stations broadcast 24 hours a day).
•
The Internet connection between your radio and the radio station's server is too slow or unstable to
support the stream’s bitrate.
