TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Cause
Solution
Unable to connect to
Wi-Fi network
Network offline
•
Make sure the computer connected via Wi-Fi
or an Ethernet cable can access the internet
(browse the web) via the same network.
•
Check whether a DHCP server is available or
you have configured a static IP address on
the radio.
•
Check that the firewall is not blocking any
outgoing ports. At a minimum, the radio
needs access to UDP and TCP ports 80,443
and 8008 and DNS port 53.
The router restricts access to
the listed MAC addresses
Get the MAC address from the menu
Configuration > Information > Network
Information > Wi-Fi MAC, then add it to the list
of allowed addresses on the access point.
Note: The radio has separate MAC addresses for
wired and wireless networks.
Insufficient Wi-Fi signal
strength
•
Check the radio’s distance from the router
and see if a computer can connect to the
network from that distance.
•
Optimize router placement.
Unknown encryption
method.
Change the encryption method setting on the
router. The radio supports WEP, WPA, and WPA2
protocols.
Firewall preventing access.
Windows Media Player:
Depends – firewalls from other manufacturers
may require specific configuration for UPnP.
The radio successfully
connects to the network
but is unable to play
specific stations.
•
The station is not currently broadcasting
(remember, it may be in a different time
zone).
•
Too many people are trying to connect to
the radio station’s server and its capacity is
overloaded.
•
The station has reached the maximum
number of simultaneous listeners allowed.
•
The link stored in the radio is out of date.
Links are auto-updated regularly. To update
the station list, go to Internet Radio Stations
> Skytune. If a particular stream is still not
working, kindly contact us or make a report
to Skytune.
No DAB/FM signal.
•
Reset the radio to its default settings and
extend the antenna.
•
Move the radio closer to a window.
Poor DAB/FM reception.
•
Make sure the antenna is extended for
maximum signal strength and adjust its
direction to improve reception.
•
Make sure there are no other appliance
nearby that could be producing interference.
