3 About the product
3.1 Product description
The Sonix 2Mx matrix controller provides a comprehensive
yet very flexible control of the Sonix PA/GA system.
Designed to work with all PA/GA architecture types the
2Mx is fully configurable to allow customisation and
modification to the whole Sonix PA/GA system.
Central to the architecture of the Sonix PA/GA system is a
fully redundant, self-healing data loop connected via RJ45
style connectors and CAT6A cables. This ensures that
connectivity of the 2Mx is vastly simplified, plug and play,
quick to install and reliable.
If a single cable is broken or disconnected, then the PA/
GA system will remain fully operable via the healthy
side of the loop. All internal cables fed from the 2Mx are
monitored ensuring that any faults are notified immediately
to the user via the user display and Sonix Software.
The 2Mx provides simple connectivity and expansion via a
range of dedicated bus loops on the rear of the unit. These
colour coded connectors are dedicated to certain features
such as HMI access panels and amplifier loops.
If extra equipment is needed within the system, it can
simple be added to the loop without extensive re-wiring of
the system.
Via the Sonix software the 2Mx can be configured to
monitor all aspects of the Sonix PA/GA system. In the
event of any internal or external field loop faults, early
warning will be advised via the 2Mx processor and the
specific PA/GA hardware whilst the audio and data is
driven both ways on the field loop ensuring no loss of
broadcast coverage.
All inputs and outputs are always designed to be fail safe
and reliable to ensure reliable operation.
The 2Mx matrix controller is a very flexible design allowing for
custom programming direct to an on-board reprogrammable
processor for project specific design changes.
