SONIX 2MX TECHNICAL MANUAL
TM370 / A June 2022 www.eaton.com
10.1 Fast flashing green indicator - Duplicate unit
Fast flashing green indicators are informing the user of
the presence of duplicate Unit IDs.
To rectify the problem, ensure that all connected units
on the bus have a unique identifier.
10.2 Fast flashing Red indicator - Split loop
A fast flashing red indicator is informing the user of a
split loop situation.
A split loop is caused by the 2Mx controller detecting
that either Data or Audio or both is no longer a complete
loop.
ote:
N
Audio faults can take up to a minute to clear once the issue is
corrected.
Suggested corrective actions:
•
Check that every CAT6A cable on the associated bus
is correctly inserted and locked
•
Ensure every unit on the bus is powered correctly
•
Check SAS for information on which fault is active
•
Units can individually report port errors, allowing
faster diagnostics of fault location
•
Ensure CAT6A cables are configured to be a complete
loop

Check that fault monitoring hasn’t been enabled for
an un-used bus
10.3 Slow flashing Red and solid Green
indicators – Historic fault
Solid Green combined with a slow flashing red indicator
is informing the user that there was an issue on the
associated bus but it has been resolved.
To diagnose the issue, users will need to study the log
included with SAS, assuming that the software was
attached to the PA/GA system during the fault situation.
See SAS manual for more information.
ote:
N
Global Fault reset on the 2Mx is the only way to clear the indicator.
10.4 Solid Red indicator
A solid red indicator is shown when there is an active
fault on the associated bus.
Most faults that cause solid red indicators are either field
wiring or equipment issues.
Suggested corrective actions:
•
Check front panels of associated bus units for further
indications
•
Check SAS for information on which fault is active
•
Missing units are only detailed on SAS
•
Check for active work permits on power supplies,
field cabling etc., isolating cabling can cause faults to
be detected
ote:
N
Missing unit faults can occur during configuration if a unique ID
is changed (see section 8.7.2).
