The front panel is comprised of a single pushbutton and 

groups of system and unit status indicators.

The indicators on the Sonix 2Mx central controller are 

a mixture of Red and Green LEDs. They are used to 

communicate status to the user in a concise manor.

The LEDs operate in the following patterns:

~0.7 Hz / 3 flashes every 2 seconds

~3 Hz / 3 flashes per second

Always illuminated

6.1.1  Power on reset

On power up the unit is held in reset for 1 second with 

all LEDs illuminated, then continues to keep the units 

attached in reset for a further ~8 second.

6.1.2  Power

The power LED is a simple power active indicator:

6.1.3  Background Music

The Background Music indicator is used to show when 

BGM is available and when it is active on the system.

BGM is enabled in confi guration, sourced from the Sonix 

Io and controlled by the Sonix Hmi-26, see section 8.1 

for more details.

6.1.4  Local source inputs

The local source inputs are comprised of Aux I/P and 

PABX groups. Each group has two indicators, labelled 1 

and 2.

The indicators are associated with the following system 

inputs:

6.1.5  Voice activity

The voice activity LEDs are comprised of a pair of 

indicators, labelled 1 and 2, for each group source; 

Routine Speech and Important Message.

The ‘1’ indicator is used to show local system activity:
