NX Tester Error Codes
If the NX Tester encounters an error condition, it will display the error number and a short descriptive
text message. This section describes these error conditions and the associated corrective action.
ERROR 214 through 235
If the NX Tester failed test point diagnostics, and if an attempt is made to run a program, this error will
be displayed.
Corrective Action
Disconnect all interface connections to the test fixture, and execute the Test Point diagnostics from
the DIAGNOSTICS menu. If the diagnostics continue to fail, contact Dynalab. If the diagnostics
pass, then there is a problem in the fixture. The problem could be a point connected to ground.
Note that each test point board is equipped with a green LED and a red LED. The red LED
indicates a failure. When a tester is first powered up, the red LED initially illuminates. The red
LED goes out after the test point board has passed start up diagnostics. If the red LED remains
illuminated after execution of the test point diagnostics, this is an indication of a failure on that
board.
ERROR 506
There is an error associated with an expression. An improperly formed expression, or referencing a non-
existent variable will cause this error to be displayed. This error is followed by additional information
that explains the nature of the error and the WorkFlow cell number with which the error is associated.
Corrective Action
Open the NX Editor test program, go to the Work Flow cell referenced by the error message. If the
error message indicated an invalid variable, delete the invalid variable and replace with a valid
variable from the pull down list. If the error message indicated an expression syntax error, change
the expression to conform to the syntax rules as explained in the NX Editor User’s Guide.
ERROR 507
An expression contains too many characters – expressions are limited to 255 characters. If this error
occurs, it may be an incompatibility between the NX Editor version and the NX Tester firmware version.
Corrective Action :
Call Dynalab for assistance.
ERROR 508
The NX Tester has attempted to Autolearn a wire harness that contains a component not supported by
Autolearn.
Corrective Action
If the wire harness contains components supported by the NX Editor, and if the component
combinations are supported as described in the NX Application Note entitled
Testing Combinations
of Components in a Wire Harness
, then use the NX Editor to develop a test program for the wire
harness.
