4.3. Connection of wastewater and safety overflow pipes
Secure the regeneration water discharge pipe above the trap, which is also equipped with a funnel.
Connect the safety pipes found in the salt tank to the end pieces provided for this purpose and attach
the two pipes above the trap. The safety pipes should always be pointing downwards along their whole
length.

For hygienic reasons, avoid any direct contact between the discharge and safety pipes and the trap.
In accordance with the technical requirements of Belgaqua, it is necessary to leave 2 cm of air space
between the traps and discharge and safety pipes.
It is forbidden to connect the discharge pipe and safety pipes into a T connection.
During assembly, the discharge pipe must have a downward slope towards the trap to prevent standing
water in the pipe. Try to keep them straight along the entire length with collars to prevent water stagnation.
The ideal height, total from the floor, from drainage (trap + funnel), should not exceed 45 cm.
In the event that it is not possible to place the trap near the softener :
1) If the trap is more than 90 cm away, use a ½” garden hose to extend these pipes
if necessary. It is forbidden to remove the original discharge pipe.

2) If the trap is located above the water discharge pipe,
make sure that the operating pressure is sufficient. For a higher connection,
the minimum pressure must be 3 bar. 1 bar more is needed for every
meter of height. The maximum authorised height is 3 meters.

The end of the discharge pipe must end with a downward slope
to prevent backflow of the outlet water.
4.4. Power supply
Install a 230V/50Hz electrical power outlet.
The length of the 230/24V transformer cord is 1,30 m.
4.5. Special details
a. If the water softener is connected to the hot water system only, a check valve must be installed between the water softener and
the hot-water system.
b. If a booster pump is included, it is advisable to place the softener after it and put the pressure-reducing
valve between the booster pump and the softener.
