Wire Mk.3 Features
The free car state is when both the up and down hall lantern signals are active, denoting a free lift car.
The free car mode can be set to disabled, which will not show any hall lanterns arrows under the free car state,
or it can be set to show only an up or down direction rather than both directions.
If configured as
“
Auto
”,
then both the up and down lantern arrows will be shown for a free car.
Free Car Mode
The following features are only available if the 2
-
Wire Mk.3 protocol is used:
The display mode of car direction arrows can be configured from the IND055 to either be hidden everywhere,
shown only on the landing position indicators, shown only on external lanterns, shown everywhere, or
“
Auto
”.
The
“
Auto
”
option causes the landing position indicators to decide themselves whether to show the lantern
direction arrow, and external lanterns will always be illuminated.
Advanced Lantern Arrows
This setting determines how the advanced hall lantern should be displayed on a position indicator. It can either
be shown as a small (car direction) arrow alongside the floor designation, as a full (hall lantern) arrow, or
hidden altogether.
If configured as a small car direction arrow, the floor designation can be fixed off
-
centre to leave space for the
arrow when it is not visible. Otherwise, the floor designation will move horizontally as the advanced hall lantern
arrow is shown and hidden.
The
“
Auto
”
option causes the position indicators to decide themselves how to show the advanced hall lantern
arrow. Most position indicators will not show the advanced hall lantern arrow by default.
Advanced Lantern PI Mode
Enabling gongs on advanced hall lantern signals will cause gongs on landings to sound before the lift arrives.
Under this mode of operation, to prevent a double gong, gongs will not sound when a normal lantern signal is
provided.

The FireFly TFT position indicator
’
s configuration can be overridden from the IND055 if the 2
-
Wire Mk.3
protocol is used. Normally, a FireFly is configured via an 8
-
way dipswitch on the back of the indicator. The
colour and layout options can be overridden from the IND055, and in addition to the 8 colour options provided
via the dipswitches, a custom foreground and background colour may also be configured.
Overriding the FireFly configuration will apply the colour scheme and layout mode to all FireFly TFT indicators
on the 2
-
Wire bus. If individual indicators need to be configured differently, then all FireFly TFTs should be
configured using their respective dipswitches.
