INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
1.
Annually
(also recommended when maintenance is performed)
•
All safety devices in the control circuit should be cycled on and off to
verify they are functioning. These include:
– High limit switch
– Airfl ow proving switch
• Inspect tank and gaskets for leaks.
•
Verify that the fl oat valve is closing off. If the fl oat valve will not shut off,
there may be particulate on the valve seat, or the stopper may be worn
and need replacing.
As long as mineral-free water is used in the humidifi er, no cleaning or
fl ushing should be necessary.
2.
Off-season maintenance
• Perform a complete inspection of the following:
– Heat
exchanger
– Float
valve
– Humidifi er tank and gaskets
•
After inspection, the humidifi er should remain empty until humidifi cation
is required.
•
After the humidifi cation season, DriSteem recommends a complete
inspection and cleaning of the heat exchanger, skimmer, and
water chamber. After cleaning, the unit should remain empty until
humidifi cation is required.
On units with Tefl on coated heat exchangers, do not use a sharp object
when cleaning.
Cuts or scratches on the heat exchanger will impair
its ability to shed scale during operation and could cause the Tefl on to
separate from the metal surface.
