Battery Pack Replacement

Battery Pack Replacement

Introduction

The 4400 contains an easily replaceable internal battery pack. See Appendix D for
ordering information.

WARNING

Replace with Dranetz NiMH battery pack BP-PX5 only.

During normal operation, the battery pack will be slightly warm to the touch.

Procedure

Follow these steps to replace the battery pack.

Step

Action

Press the 4400 power button to off.

Turn off power to the circuit being measured.

Disconnect voltage and current probes from the circuit and the 4400

’

rear panel.

On the bottom of the 4400, push the tab to release the battery cover.
Refer to the diagram shown on page C-7.

Remove the cover.

Pull up on removal strap and remove battery pack.

Insert the new pack into the compartment making sure to observe
polarity markings.

Replace the cover and press down until it latches closed.

Discard the old battery pack in accordance with Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.

Press the 4400 power button to on.
