Device Rack
— Installation in the safe, non-hazardous area.
Central controller Polytron SE Ex:
— Attach to panel for device rack with 2 or 5 channel modules.
Central controllers Polytron SE Ex / REGARD Ex:
— Install in 19"-rack system for device rack up to 12 (Polytron) resp. 16 (REGARD)
channel modules.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
— Minimum distance to housing cover 50 mm.
If more than two device racks are stacked together forced ventilation must be pro-
vided.
— Follow national regulations against risk of electric shock.
Concerning any information about installation, commissioning, operation, function
and maintenance of the central controller Polytron SE Ex, please refer to the Instruc-
tions for Use Polytron central controller, order-no. 90 23 207, which is attached with
each delivery of the device rack Polytron SE Ex.
Concerning any information about installation, commissioning, operation, function
and maintenance of the central controller REGARD, please refer to the Instructions
for Use REGARD, order-no. 42 05 746.
Sensing Head
Observe laws and regulations concerning electrical equipment in potentially explo-
sive atmospheres as well as the approval conditions.
Orientation:
The measuring signal of the sensing head is depending on the inclination. The
sensing head has to be mounted such that the sensor's gas entrance area of the
sensor is pointing downwards. If to be mounted at the ceiling a mounting bracket
must be used.
— Install sensing head in vertical position at a location with little vibration and maxi-
mum temperature stability (no direct sun light) in the vicinity of a possible leak.
