Connecting skin temperature sensor
When using a Dräger skin temperature sensor
(order separately, see "Ordering Information", page 65).

Plug
yellow
sensor connector into
yellow
jack.

Route sensor cable through one of the flexible
grommets onto bed surface.

Remove protective paper from adhesive pad and
place sensor probe on pad.

Remove protective paper from other side and attach
sensor probe with adhesive pad to an appropriate
area of patient's skin.
NOTE:
For replacement sensor pads, see "Ordering
Information", page 65.
When using a disposable temperature sensor:
If the infant is lying on his back:

Place sensor on the abdomen in the liver region.
If the infant is lying on his stomach:
●
Place sensor on the back, preferably in the kidney
region.
●
Secure sensor cable with adhesive tape as
necessary to provide strain relief.
WARNING !
Never use skin temperature probes for rectally
measuring core temperature !
Specifically, never use skin temperature probe
rectally for skin temperature control as this
would measure and use core instead of skin
temperature for control.
WARNING !
The sensor probe must never be placed under
the baby. It would be measuring and
attempting to control core temperature rather
than skin temperature.
WARNING !
Always verify that sensor probe is specified
and approved for use with Dräger
Babytherm 8004/8010.
