Using the Radiant Heater
After switching Babytherm on, it will suggest a mode of
operation for the radiant heater:
– no skin temperature probe connected =
»man.«
(manual mode)
– at least the yellow "tummy" skin temperature probe is
connected =
»Skin«
(skin temperature control mode).

The respective yellow LED in the key is blinking.
Setting Heater Output Manually
For instance during short-term treatment, for infants in
thermic shock who should not be treated using skin
temperature control.
In manual mode, the radiant warmer provides preset
heater output, not linked to the body temperature of the
infant.
Output can be manually set between levels 1 and 10,
with setting 10 providing the maximum power output.

To enter manual mode when "Skin" mode is still on:

Press key, the yellow LED
»man.«
starts blinking.

The display shows message:
Set radiant heater level
Press OK-button to cancel.

Babytherm will offer the current calculated heater
output setting as default.
(After switching on, default heater level is 3.)
Each LED segment reflects a heater level increment:
1 through 3 = green LEDs
4 through 10 = yellow LEDs.
WARNING !
Never leave baby unattended while radiant
warmer is in operation!
Measure core temperature at regular intervals!
