Term

Definition

Wire feed rate

The speed of the wire in meters per minute

(m/min) is designated as the wire feeding
speed. The wire feeding speed and the welding

current are linked to each other, see Synergy.

If the wire feeding speed is increased or decrea-
sed, the welding current compensates.

Throttle

The  throttle  influences  the  energy  that  is  fed  to

the wire, while the wire feeding speed remains

constant. Using the throttle, the electric arc can be
set to be “harder“ or “softer.“ The term dynamics
is often used to designate the throttle.

Creep

The wire speed until ignition is designated as
creep. This can be set and depends on a per-
centile of the process speed.

End crater process

The end crater process is used to fill the weld pool

at the end of the seam.

Gas post-flows

The  gas  post-flows  are  used  to  set  a  time  in

which the weld pool is protected at the end of the
welding from the ambient air in order to prevent
pores in the weld pool.

Gas pre-flows

The gas pre-flows form a protective gas bell before

the arc is ignited.

Pulse at the end of the process

A pulse, which prevents the back-burning of the
wire to the sphere can be set and activated at the
end of the process.

Welding voltage

A higher welding voltage increases the arc length
and ensures a hotter and wider weld pool. The
welding voltage setting can be done with or

without synergy. In synergy mode, the welding
voltage is set as a positive or negative deviation
from its synergy characteristic.

Start process

The start process is used to introduce heat at the

start  of  the  seam. This  prevents  join  flaws  from

occurring at the start of the seam.

Synergy

Synergy denotes the relationship between the
wire feeding speed, welding current, welding

voltage, type of material, wire diameter and gas
mixture. These parameters are compiled and

saved as a synergy characteristic.

Begriffsdefinition

Begriff

Definition

Drahtvorschubgeschwindigkeit

Als Drahtvorschubgeschwindigkeit wird die

Geschwindigkeit des Drahtes in Meter pro Minute
(m/min) bezeichnet. Die Drahtvorschubge-
schwindigkeit und der Schweißstrom sind an-
einander gebunden, siehe

Synergie

. Wenn die

Drahtvorschubgeschwindigkeit erhöht oder

verringert wird, gleicht sich der Schweißstrom an.

Drossel

Die Drossel beeinflusst die zugeführte Energie auf

den Draht, wobei die Drahtvorschubgeschwindig-
keit konstant bleibt. Anhand der Drossel kann
der Lichtbogen ‚Härter’ oder ‚Weicher’ eingestellt

werden. Für die Bezeichnung Drossel wird häufig

auch der Begriff Dynamik verwendet.

Einschleichen

Mit Einschleichen wird die Drahtgeschwindigkeit
bis zum Zünden bezeichnet. Diese ist Einstellbar
und ist prozentual von der Prozessgeschwindig-
keit abhängig.

Endkraterprozess

tellt.

Startprozess

Der Startprozess wird verwendet um am Naht-
anfang Wärme einzubringen. Hiermit wird ver-
mieden, dass am Nahtanfang Bindefehler entste-
hen.

Synergie

Synergie bedeutet das Verhältnis zwischen

Drahtvorschubgeschwindigkeit, Schweißstrom,

Schweißspannung, Materialart, Drahtdurchmess-
er und Gasmischung. Diese Parameter werden
als Synergiekennlinie zusammengefasst und
hinterlegt.
