11. Set Roll Offset on Remote (if needed)
If
the SST transmitter’s 0° roll position does not match the bit’s 0° roll position, then the roll offset function
must be used to electronically compensate for the difference. The roll offset function must be set or
enabled on both the remote display and the receiver. Before setting the roll offset, position the drill head
in a 0° roll orientation.
To set the roll offset on the remote display, push the right arrow button from the steering screen. A popup
menu will display to set a new roll offset, with the option to set the displayed value or exit.

Push the right arrow button to highlight the set option and press the execute button. The roll position and
roll value on the remote will change to read 0°, and the roll offset value (194° in this example) will appear
below the le
tters “RO” on the lower right of the roll indicator, as shown below.
