Node works with Utility but not with System 3505.
Look for the mechanical issue first.
Possible problems:
Break in the wire between System 3505 and Q-Node. Short the wire on one end of
the connection and test the wire for continuity on the other end.
Polarity Reversed in the wiring.
Wiring is too long, or too small a gauge or some other related problem. The signal is
too small for the two systems to communicate. If possible, take the Q-Node to the
location of the System 3505 and test the two systems out side by side.
Bad RS-485 port on the Q-Node or the System 3505.
Not connected to the correct port on the System 3505.
With reference to software settings on the System 3505:
The Q-Mux port has not been configured properly.
The port has been programmed but not activated. Try a hard restart of the System
3505.
The RS-485 card is not in the correct location. The configurator card may be in the
wrong port. If a line driver card, it may be in the wrong card slot.
8.4 IDM Issues
IDM is down.
The most common causes for the IDM to be down (not working) are:
IDM Number or frequency programmed incorrectly.
IDM not connected to TBUSS correctly.
Connection between Q-Node and IDM is bad.
IDM Bad
Q-Node powered down or bad.
When I add a new IDM to the TBUSS I lose two. It is very well possible that the IDM you
are adding has the same IDM number as an IDM already connected to the Q-Node. Connect
the IDM to the Programmer and confirm the IDM number.
Add a new IDM but entire TBUSS goes Down. Check the polarity of the IDM to the
TBUSS. Possible that the polarity is reversed.
IDM seems to bounce between secure and trouble. This is probably indicating that the
connection between this IDM and the Q-Node is not very good and is having many errors.
Use the IDM Programmer to confirm that the IDM is programmed correctly and fully
