Setting up the 3505 Hardware

In order to get the Q-Mux system working with a System 3505, you need to have the
following:

4.1

Q-Mux Software Option

If you did not purchase the Q-Mux Software Option for your System 3505, you will not be
able to connect the System 3505 with the Q-Nodes and make them communicate. Contact
your distributor.

4.2

RS-485 Configurator Bd

The RS-485 Configurator board mounts directly to the back of the System 3505. It would
provide a single RS485 connection to the Q-Nodes. Multiple Q-Nodes can be connected to
the configurator card at the same time. The RS-485 Configurator card can only be used as a
Style 3 Connection, in that a single pair of wires would connect to each Q-Node, and a single
break could prevent communication to the Q-Nodes.

See the drawings in Appendix A for more details on how to install a Line Driver Rack.
