Analog Output Configuration
The BNX3’s analog outputs can be configured several different ways, giving you a variety of signal routing
possibilities for both recording and performing applications. The available analog output configurations
are:
mono
(bass processor and recorder output summed to mono)
stereo
(bass processor and
recorder output in stereo),
B>l r>r
(bass left output, recorder right output),
monobass
(Mono output,
bass processor only),
sterbass
(Stereo output, bass processor only), and
BiAmp
(Bi-Amp output, bass
processor only).
When using either Mono or Stereo, both the BNX3’s bass processing and the recorder’s outputs are
mixed together at the analog outputs. When Bass
B>l r>r
(bass left output, recorder right output) is
selected, the BNX3’s bass processing is summed to mono and sent to the left analog output while the
recorder’s output is summed to mono and sent to the right analog output. This is useful if you want to
run the BNX3 to an amplifier setup (using the Left/Bass output) while sending the recorder output direct
to a mixer (using the Right/Recorder output). When using either
monobass
(Mono output, bass
processor only), and
sterbass
(Stereo output, bass processor only), only the BNX3’s bass processing is
sent to the analog outputs and the recorder output is muted.
To select the analog output configuration, do the following:
1. Press the
UTILITY
button. The Utility button’s LED lights.
2. Using the
MODE
or
DRUMS
button, scroll to the left or right until
anlg out
is displayed (Analog
Output Configuration setup menu). The display begins flashing between
anlg out
and the selected
output configuration. Note:
stereo
is the default set from the factory
3. Use the
DATA WHEEL
to change the output configuration.
4. Press the
EXIT
button to exit.
Bi-Amp Configuration
The BNX3 offers a Bi-Amp (High/Low) output configuration. This lets you configure the analog Left
and Right outputs as High and Low frequency outputs. These signals are sent to separate channels of
a stereo power amp and then to separate cabinets loaded with different drivers. When the Bi-Amp
configuration is used, the recorder output is muted in the analog outputs. The procedure for setting
up the Bi-Amp configuration is as follows:
1. Press the
UTILITY
button. The Utility button’s LED lights.
2. Using the
MODE
or
DRUMS
button, scroll to the left or right until
anlg out
is displayed
(Analog Output Configuration setup menu). The display begins flashing between
anlg out
and the
selected output configuration. Note:
stereo
is the default set from the factory.
3. Use the
DATA WHEEL
to change the output configuration to
biamp 80
. This is the first
crossover setting for the Bi-Amp configuration which is 80Hz. Frequencies below 80Hz are routed
to the Low Output and above 80Hz are routed to the High Output. Continue turning the data
wheel to select the crossover frequency your system requires. Crossover range is from 80-500Hz.
4. Press the
EXIT
button to exit.
Volume Pedal Update
The BNX3 lets you select the Expression Pedal’s position to be updated, after changing presets, when it is
linked to the Volume Parameter. This feature lets you change presets and keep the volume level from the
previous preset, if the Expression Pedal controls the volume for both presets. If this feature is disabled,
new presets are set to the volume level value stored with the preset. The procedure for enabling or
disabling the Volume Pedal Update is as follows:
1. Press the
UTILITY
button. The Utility button’s LED lights.
2. Using the
MODE
or
DRUMS
button, scroll to the left or right until
volumpdl
(Volume Pedal
Update) is displayed.
3. Rotate the
DATA WHEEL
to select
On
(enabled), or
OF
(disabled).
4. Press
EXIT
to return to the BNX3 presets.
