Turning Your Workstation On and Off

Turning Your Workstation On and Off

Turning On the
Monitor

Turn on ( | ) the monitor with the monitor On/Off switch. The
monitor power does not turn on when the system unit is turned
on.

Turning On
Your System

Turn on your other equipment in the following order:

Printer and modem

Storage and expansion boxes

System unit

Adjusting Your
Monitor

Adjust the brightness and contrast on your monitor to the level
most comfortable to you. For more information, refer to your
monitor documentation.

Turning Your
System Off

Before halting or turning off your system, see the operating
system documentation for shutdown procedures. If your system
is part of a networked work group, do not turn off, halt, or
restart the system without notifying work group members.

Halt the system by pressing the halt button behind the door
on the front of the system unit.

Turn off your equipment in the following order:

System unit

Storage and expansion boxes

All peripherals, such as printers and modems

Turn off (O) the monitor with the monitor On/Off switch.
The monitor power does not turn off when the system
unit is turned off.)
