4. Remove the two screws and disconnect the connector

to remove the Density Control Panel.

Exhaust Fan

The three fan motors installed in this printer work to
prevent a rise in the internal temperature. The role of
each fan is as follows:

• Fixing unit fan (FM1)—Blows air from around the

fixing unit out of the printer.

• Electrical unit fan (FM2)—Blows air from around the

various PCBs and the laser/scanner unit out of the
printer.
