Calculating Power Requirements

Using
, calculate the total number of milliamps (mA) required by each device, module, and accessory in the system. Please take into account
devices connected to the control panel’s PGM outputs. Since the
BELL
output has its own power supply, do not include the sirens connected to it in the
calculation.

If Grand Total is less than 700mA, go to step 3. If the value is greater, an external power supply is required (see
on page 5) to provide the
additional power needed. Proceed with step 3 and refer to the example in
3.
Due to the degradation of a power signal over long distances,
EACH
length or run of wire in the system can support only a specific number of milliamps
(mA). Using
, determine how many milliamps each length of wire can support. Please note that the total number of milliamps (mA) can never
surpass 700mA.
