5.7 Clean and disinfect the handle sleeves

Ceiling model
Switch the operating light to Clean mode before cleaning/disinfection (see
"Operation via integrated keyboard" [ → 31]).
Complete a manual clean in order to remove any dirt and disinfectant
residue (see "General processing instructions" [ → 42]).
The lamp components including the light exit window can be wiped with
surface disinfectants approved by the manufacturer.

Clean and disinfect the handle sleeves
The handle sleeves for the LEDview Plus can be wiped with disinfectant
as well as sterilized. Spare handle sleeves can be ordered from a
specialized dealer (REF 64 97 353).
For thermal disinfection or sterilization the handle sleeves must be
removed from the operating light with material number 64 97 015 (see
“Removing/attaching handle sleeves” [ → 45]).
Clean the handle sleeves with neutral standard commercial cleaning
agents before processing. Wipe them with disinfectant or thermal
disinfect before sterilizing. Package the handles in sterile packaging
before sterilizing.
Thermal disinfection or sterilization may result in a slight discoloration of
the handle sleeves over time. This does not affect their functionality.
Replace the handle sleeves after 200 sterilization cycles at the latest or
500 thermal disinfection cycles at the latest.
CAUTION
The spare handle sleeves are not disinfected or sterilized when
delivered.
Complete a thermal disinfection or sterilization before initial use.
