To unlock the doors of the vehicle, press
for one second. The
vehicle’s horn (if connected) will honk twice, and the parking
lights will also flash twice (if connected). The red LED will go out,
unless the system is programmed for passive mode. If programmed
for passive mode, the LED will begin to flash rapidly when the sys-
tem is disarmed. This indicates that the system will re-engage the
optional Failsafe
®
Starter Kill relay and re-lock the doors (if passive
locking is selected) in 30 seconds unless the key is turned on.
NOTE:
If the system has been armed with the remote transmitter, you
must use the transmitter or the Valet switch to disarm the system and
deactivate the starter kill. Manually unlocking the vehicle does not dis-
arm the system; it will only unlock the doors.
This feature allows you to override the optional Starter Kill with-
out the transmitter should it be lost, damaged or disabled. To do
this, you must have the vehicle's ignition key and know where the
Valet
®
switch is located. Be sure to check with the installer for the
location of the Valet
®
switch.
Turn the ignition on. Press and
release the Valet
®
switch within
10 seconds. The LED will stop
flashing and the vehicle should
start. If it does not start, you
may have waited too long. Turn
the ignition off and try again.
