Spread controls the rate at which the system reaches
the maximum correction allowed. Once a slip is
detected, if the RPM reaches the top of the correction
spread, then the correction will reach maximum. The
correction is linear, so if the RPM spike only reaches
50% of the spread, then only 50% of the max
correction will be allowed.
