Usual Setting

SoftProof Users will typically check the Black and White Reference checkboxes in 
Spyder3Print when building their profiles, and use SpyderProof’s SoftProof capability, 
in addition to Photoshop’s Custom Proof Setup command for SoftProofing using their 
printer profile.

 

The Purpose of This Step

Softproofing allows users to emulate the output to a specific printer/colorant/media 
combination on screen.
