Perceptual Intent:

 Datacolor’s Perceptual intent falls somewhere between Relative 

Colorimetric and Saturation intents, and is best used when an intermediate result is 
needed. Use in cases where Hue Shift with Saturation intent is objectionable, but the 
low color brilliance with Relative Colorimetric is problematic.

 

Absolute Colorimetric Intent: 

This is a special intent for proofing purposes, where 

the off white paper of the final printing device needs to be emulated on the whiter 
paper of the proofing device. Unless you are emulating newsprint output on your 
desktop printer, you probably will never need this intent.
