Hazards caused by insufficient securing of place of work
The operator in charge is solely responsible for securing the place of work
and its surroundings.
2.3.6
Hazards caused by electric shock
Touching live components may cause a life-threatening electric shock.
Work on electric device parts or operating equipment may only be undertaken by
an authorised electrician according to recognised electrical regulations.
Only authorised specialists are granted access to the electric control cabinet.
Covers on live parts must not be removed.
In the event of faults on the electric energy supply, immediately switch off the
device using the main switch or disconnect the device from the power supply.
Check the device's electrical equipment on a regular basis. In the event of
damage to the electrical equipment, immediately switch off the device using the
main switch. Have loose connections or charred / damaged cables replaced
immediately.
Switch the device off if there is a risk of electric shock.
Secure the device against accidentally starting up again.
After the device has been disconnected from the electric supply using the
main switch, there will still be a life-threatening voltage on the following
parts:
– the supply lines
– the input terminals in the control cabinet
– the main switch
Five rules of safety before starting work:

Isolate
–
Secure against start-up
–
Ensure device is not energised
–
Ground and short circuit
–
Cover or shut off adjacent, energised parts.
