This tap  arrangem ent allow s all fram e grabbers w ith 8-tap , 8-bit to grab im ages w ithou t requ iring
ad d itional m od ifications.

H ow ever, in ord er to correctly form at the im age for p rocessing and  d isp lay p u rp oses, fram e grabbers
need  to su p p ort RGB 6.2 m od e natively. Until then, here are som e w orkarou nd s u sing Sap era LT.

N otice, to su p p ort this p ixel form at in m em ory, the bu ffer m u st be set to RGB 24-bit p acked .

All Sap era d em o and  exam p le p rogram s extract the create acqu isition bu ffer typ e from  the associated
cam era configu ration files. Until there is native su p p ort for RGB 6.2 m od e, fram e grabbers m u st be
configured as monochrome, the CCF files pixel format can‘t be used by the programs to process the
im age correctly.

A simple workaround accomplishes this

1)

Acqu ire as if the P4 cam era w as a 8-bit m ono, 24,576 (4096 x 3) p ixels linescan cam era

2)

Treat acqu ired bu ffer as Sap Form atRGBR888 (24bit/ p ixel). Sap era LT p rovid es a featu re to share
bu ffer com p onents betw een tw o Sap Bu ffer objects. Bu ffer typ e m ay be d ifferent betw een the tw o
Sap Bu ffer objects. This can be a trick to convert bu ffer form at w ithou t bu ffer cop y.
