2 Front Panel Interface
The front panel interface gives users access to features like the local/remote switch, reset
switch, power switch, keypad, and local J1 port. The user can also see the LED indicators
on the right side of the interface, which show important statuses. Refer to
for
locations of the front panel interface features.
Caution:
The LCD screen on the front of the VFC-3000 controller is a static-sensitive
device.
LED Indicators
The LED indicators provide status information for the VFC-3000 controller. They are
located on the far right side of the front panel interface.
• Power LED:
Indicates that power is applied to the controller, or the controller is
powered by the internal backup battery.
• Active LED:
Flashes to indicate the controller’s software is executing.
• Comm LED:
Flashes when NTCIP communication is received from any of the
VFC-3000 Controller Communications (J1, J5-J9)
• Local LED:
Indicates the controller is in local mode; refer to
Power Switch
The Power switch in the lower-left corner of the front panel interface turns the controller’s
power on and off. The Power LED on the right side of the interface indicates that the
controller’s power is on.
Note:
To remove power to the VFC-3000 controller, use the power switch instead
of unplugging power. The controller has an internal backup battery that,
depending on the configuration, may continue to power the controller to notify
the central control computer of primary power loss.
Reset Switch
The Reset switch can perform a hardware reset on the controller. Only use the Reset
switch in the event that the controller’s Active LED is not flashing, and the controller is not
responding to commands.
Local/Remote Switch
The Local/Remote switch toggles display control from remote to local mode or from local
to remote mode. If the Local LED on the right side of the front panel interface is on, the
controller is in local mode. The Main Menu on the LCD screen also states whether the
controller is in local or remote mode.
