Configuring Advanced QoS Settings

Defining Tail Dropping

The

Tail Drop Page

permits network managers to set the device to drop packets which exceed the threshold size.

Tail Drop is configured per queue. To define tail drop:

Click

Advanced Setup > Quality of Service > Policy Properties > Tail Drop

contains the following field:

•

Gigabit Ethernet

— Displays the Gigabit Ethernet port for which the tail drop settings are defined.

•

Ten Gigabit Ethernet

— Displays the Ten Gigabit Ethernet port for which the tail drop settings are defined.

•

Queue No.

— Indicates the traffic queue for which the tail drop settings are defined.

•

Threshold (0-100%)

— Defines the bandwidth amount after which packets are dropped. For example, if

queue 2 is presently using 50% of the bandwidth.

•

Tail Drop Status

— Indicates the status of tail dropping on the interface. Possible field values are:

Enable

— Indicates Tail dropping is enabled on the device.

–

Disable

— Indicates Tail dropping is disabled on the device.
